How it works

Real days, counted one by one

Temperature and dew point

Daily high, low and average dew point from the nearest weather station with solid records, usually the airport, via NOAA’s Global Summary of the Day. Each city card names its station and distance.

Clouds and rain

Daily cloud cover and rainfall from NASA POWER (NASA Langley Research Center), which blends satellite data and models on a grid. A “rainy day” is 0.1 in (2.5 mm) or more.

The count

Every day from 2021–2025 is checked against all your settings at once. Missing days are skipped, and the result is scaled to a 365-day year, so a patchy station doesn’t look worse than it is.

Weather’s only one part of the move.
